Sams Accounting Desktop
Privacy Policy
1. Data handled
The desktop app handles activation details such as name, email or mobile number, licence or trial status, consent version, and acceptance timestamps. It also processes accounting files, ledger names, voucher previews, and reconciliation results that you select or generate.
2. Purpose
Activation data is used to verify access, maintain consent records, provide support, and prevent licence abuse. Accounting data is processed to perform the workflow you request. Technical information is used for updates, compatibility, troubleshooting, and security.
3. Local processing and connections
Activation settings are stored in your Windows application-data folder. Selected accounting files are processed locally. The app connects to the local Tally URL you configure, normally 127.0.0.1:9000. It contacts our update manifest to check versions and opens GitHub only when you choose to download an installer. The current build has no advertising trackers or analytics and does not automatically upload accounting files to our servers.
4. Consent, withdrawal, and deletion
Activation requires separate acceptance of the Terms and this Policy. You may decline activation. You may withdraw consent by contacting us and removing the app’s local settings or uninstalling the app. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
5. Retention and sharing
Local activation settings remain until removed or reset. Files and exports remain where you store them. We do not sell personal data. We share data only when needed to provide a requested service, comply with law, protect security, or complete a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
6. Security and user responsibilities
We use reasonable safeguards, including local processing and signed licence validation. No system is completely secure. Protect your Windows account, Tally access, backups, exports, and licence credentials.
7. Your rights and grievances
Subject to applicable law, you may request information, correction, completion, erasure, consent withdrawal, or grievance handling for personal data we control. We may verify your identity before acting.
8. Children and policy changes
The software is intended for business users and is not directed to children. Material policy changes use a new consent version and may require renewed acceptance.
